ESTE ARTISTA FRANCÊS MORREU AOS 29 ANOS NA GUERRA FRANCO-PRUSSIANA

Frederic Bazille was born in 1841, a wealthy young protestant who was training to be a doctor. He fell in with artists when he was 21 and his life changed. He met Monet, Renoir, and Sisley in 1862 and they became close friends. In fact, Bazille supported Monet with funds and shared a studio with him, and later shared a studio with Renoir. By 1864, Bazille had given up his medical studies to become a full-time artist. His clear, lucid landscapes made him a significant representative of Early Impressionmism, but he volunteered to fight in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 and was killed at the front. He was only 29 years old. Music is Ferdinando Carulli's "Allegretto," performed by Matteo Campanella
